How to harmonize the home as a basis in Feng Shui

Do you know what Feng Shui is? Get inspired here to compose more compact and harmonious environments.

Feng Shui is a Chinese decoration technique that is based on the use of energies present at home.  It teaches to compose healthier and more harmonious environments from energetic vibration patterns.  To make the most of this technique you should consult a specialist, but there are some Feng Shui practices that are simple and easy to implement at home or in the office.  Here are a few:

– The entrance hall should be a free space, lit and clean in order not to block the flow of energy into the home.

– If possible, avoid windows and mirrors exactly in front of the front door.  Otherwise, all the energy that enters, attracted by the light, is dissipated through the window or by the mirror’s reflection.  The issue of the mirror is easy to solve, while the window, as a structural element of the house, is more difficult.  But it also has a solution: just place a curtain on it, which will help to lessen the loss of energy.

– Do not block passageways with furniture.  The layout of the furniture in the various rooms should allow for free movement.

– Eliminate edges and furniture that can hurt.  If you hit your knee on the living room table every time you approach it, the message you are sending your brain is that your house is not a safe place.  Place protectors on the sharper edges and don’t hesitate to get rid of furniture and objects that can hurt you when passing them.

– Keep the house tidy and clean.  Dirt and objects spread throughout the house disturb the movement of persons and prevent the circulation of energy.

– Keep the bathroom door closed.  The bathroom is the place in the house with worst energy for Feng Shui, seeing as it is where one takes care of one’s personal hygiene and where the excrements are eliminated.  If the door is open, that negative energy will “contaminate” the rest of the house.  The same happens with the toilet seat, which should be kept closed when not in use.

– In the bedroom, the bed’s headboard should be against a wall that does not have a window or be the division with the bathroom.  The window brings a feeling of insecurity and the wall that is the division with the bathroom may drain the good energies.

– Use and abuse indoor plants.  They are great allies of Feng Shui as they purify the air and help to renew the energies.  If you don’t have a way with plants start with the succulent plants, they are pretty, resistant and don’t require a lot of care.
